Chocolate Workshop, Waterfall and Cultural Lunch
This one's for the day you want to slow down and eat well. We take a gorgeous 35-minute drive up into the mountains, to a little village most people never find, to a private spot tucked in the rainforest with the Naranjo River shining down below.
We start in the garden, getting to know the fruits and spices the locals actually cook with, and yeah, you'll taste cacao straight off the tree, the real raw thing. Then it's down to the rancho for the story of chocolate, start to finish. Sleeves up: you're rolling your own truffles and piling on whatever toppings make them yours.
While the chocolate sets, we wander a short trail down to the river and jump straight under a waterfall. Swim in the pool, or just sprawl out on one of the big boulders and soak the place in.
Then the best part: we go see our friend Doña Luz. She opens up her own kitchen, teaches you to press tortillas by hand, and you get to know her and her family. It's real, it's warm, and you leave full, of food and of the good stuff.
