Caño Island
Caño Island sits about 30 km off the Osa Peninsula, and it's regularly called one of the best dive spots in all of Costa Rica, no exaggeration. It's a protected biological reserve, so the water is stacked with tropical fish, sharks, and, depending on the season, whales. Visibility runs anywhere from 40 to 100 feet, and the volcanic seafloor grows the most diverse reefs in the country.
You'll set out early from Marino Ballena National Park and cruise the South Pacific coast for about an hour and ten minutes to get there. Once you arrive, you'll dive or snorkel two different sites.
Not certified? No problem, just ask us about the "Discover Scuba Diving" option and you can still get down there. This is a full day, and a genuine bucket-list one.
